My brother and I did Baptist Draw Friday evening. Beautiful canyon other than some trash left behind that we packed out and some graffiti.
Two bolts in Baptist need to be pulled and patched. They aren

Welcome back Mr. P! Glad to have you back!
Are these bolts in that one section about half way through the Draw ~ about a 20 ft drop that could be downclimbed by some?
That wasn't the first time you did Baptist Draw was it? Did you exit out Upper Chute going upcanyon or downcanyon?

No, we too downclimbed that one, but the bolts are at the larger drop.

Yes, it was my first to do the loop.

Hey Scott - about several hundred yards upcanyon from the confluence of Baptist/Upper Chute is a notorious pothole that is a swimmer and is almost always covered over with a thick layer of STANKY organic debris. Was that nasty pothole still there or has it dried up some?

The canyon was bone dry without even a patch of wet sand.

Last October I went through Baptist and noticed the bolts and chains. They looked pretty new when I was there in October. We went down to Baptist again the Sunday immediately following your descent. I noticed one of the chains was missing and would have pulled the other crap but didn't think about bringing any tools with me.
We went the opposite direction and went down Chute to the fault line exit there was only one wet spot that had water up to Mid-calf. The rest of the canyon was super dry.

Yes, I just yanked on the chain and it came right off with not that hard of a tug. :eek2: I can't belive people were rapping off this or why they were doing so with such a solid chockstone to go off.

Cause they can't tie a water knot? :ne_nau:
