I suspect that most people along the Front have hiked Frary Peak but for those from other areas of the state I took some pictures Sunday. We hiked early and had no noticeable insects and unlike the previous week did not see any ticks. The wide angle lens makes the last bit to the top look flatter than it actually is. The guy I hike with is (like me) doing some straining in this steep portion. Still, it is a great hike especially this early in the year when nothing much is open.

I love this hike. Its a great one, and Frary is also a prominent peak.

Did you see any ta-tunka?

Did you see any ta-tunka?

I always stop and have a ta-tunka burger at the Buffalo Bistro.

They used to close this trail during April for bighorn sheep lambing season, I guess they don't do that anymore? :ne_nau:

I think I read somewhere that they determined that they dont use that area for lambing?

I checked on the trail closure last year when the trail didn't appear to close on the official closure day and was told that they were going to leave it open. I have the impression that closing the trail wasn't affecting the lambing either way so the trail is still open (for the moment anyway).

Thanks for the trail closure update.... April is a prime month for this peak, nice to see it left open.

I didn't see your post yesterday. I do most of my hikes with him. We hike about the same level. There is nothing worse than hiking with someone who is much slower or faster than you. I also hike alone fairly frequently when he cannot hike although I know one or two other people who sometimes hike.
