The Quickest Way To Kill A Cow -- HIJACKED!!

Since it was my ride that got destroyed...I thought I should weigh in with the pics. Justin and I are greatful to be alive as we somehow walked away from this unscathed. I want to thank Kent and his boys for rescuing us from the side of the road and Ram for tolerating all the noise we made with the multiple trips to and from camp that night. I've run U-24 outside of Hanksville hundreds of times, day or night...this time, that freakin' cow appeared out of nowhere. I found out later from the UHP that there's a favorite bovine watering hole on the west side of the road around mile marker 7. Anyone else running U-24 this time of year in the dark, beware of that. I will say this about the Toyota 4 Runner...it took the hit like a champ! At least with the size of this particular cow. If it had been any bigger I'm sure that things would've been different. The airbags deployed but we never hit them. The seatbelts did all of the work and ultimately saved our lives.

One of the part time teachers at my daughter's school also hit a cow earlier this week. She came away with a broken arm, and the cow belonged to the father of one of my daughter's classmates.

Wow nice hit! Glad you are ok though.

I was surprised at the lack of carnage though, that cow was tough! Very little blood and gore considering all the sharp metal present.

I've come close to hitting a stupid deer 2x but am very lucky I guess. My little car would crumple like a sardine can.

SUVs get a lot of bad press but there is no way I'm going to drive a car or GASP, an economy car, your accident is more proof they are safe vehicles for those of us that drive outside the cities.

Glad you are ok, poor 4-Runner. Toyota is the best car on the road.
