Saw this on TV last Friday, except all 4 tubes were open. Voiceover claimed 300,000 gallons per second. Wondered if any locals managed to get by there to witness it.

Just trying to get the canyon a little bit deeper, speed up the erosion process :mrgreen:

I don't see this working well if 98% of the sediment is stopped by the dam. Maybe if they dredged some of that dam sediment :haha: at the same time. :ne_nau:

I believe the tubes they use for this take water (and sediment) from the bottom of the dam.

Maybe but the Colorado use to be a muddy river, the water coming out of those tubes is not muddy. If they are hopping to mimic the seasonal floods before the dam was built they'd need to get the water dirty. :naughty:
