I saw these ladies on PBS late last night. I kinda liked them. Plus, the one in the gold dress is a hottie.

That's fantastic! She's not bad either :P

Hopefully they do a repeat, and I can DVR it. I think I saw something like this but there was some lady dancing around with a violin? In Costco of all places.

My in-laws love "Celtic women". The "Celtic Women Christmas" is one of their favorite holiday CDs.

Hayley Westenra is about 20 years old. I saw her perform in Cape Breton in 2006 with Natalie MacMaster. (the lady dancing with the fiddle)

I have met and attended several of Natalie's concerts over the years. She is a great performer and very nice person.

Celtic Music is my favorite genre of music. Having grown up in Cape Breton, I can always go home by just listening to the music.

This past weekend I just made my reservation to go home again for the fall. We always go to attend Celtic Colours International Festival. If you want to see the best all in one location, check out the web page:

New Zealand has a very strong celtic culture. During the Scottish Highland Clearances and the Irish famine, many came to North America via Nova Scotia (aka New Scotland) and New England. During the expulsion of the Acadians (Longfellow's Evangeline), those that did not go to Louisiana, went to New Zealand.

The history of celtic music and language is a great story.

I work for a mail order music company and the Celtic Woman label has been a client since they released the first album. We sell a lot of their CDs & DVDs.

I find they have a bit too much FUPA (except the fiddle player) for my tastes but they can sing real purty.

Amen, Pink dress for the win!

My wife and I saw a DVD of them while at the Parade of Homes in St. George a couple of years ago. Didn't hurt that it was in one of those super nice theater rooms with great surround sound. Not a big fan of christmas music, but love their other stuff. Oh and the fiddle player rocks, thats some skill.

I like the little blonde violin player that runs around and flips her hair while playing... That's not easy!

Their voices are unreal though.

I had a bizarre thought though and was curious to hear what you guys think. Everytime I'm at a concert, be it Dave Mathews or something like this, people ALWAYS want to clap along. I find it extremely irratating. It interferes with my appreciating the acoustics I think. I just want to tell the crowd to STFU and clap at the END of the song. I didn't come here to hear 1000 people clapping off beat. I understand they are appreciating the music, and maybe showing appreciation for the performers, but it really bugs me. Anyways, was wondering if anyone else has that problem or I'm just a prick?

Deathcricket,

I'm with you clapping at a show sucks. By the second measure every one is on a different beat (drunks can't keep a beat). Yet bands love to encourage it. Add to that singing along.

And yea the Celtic Women are not uber-babes. I call them Celtic FUPA
(Fat Upper Pussy Area). Although selling their discs has paid several of my paychecks so their not all bad.
