I'm thinking about taking the kids (1 & 3) down to little wild horse next month. I've never been there. Is there water in it in the spring? Would it be a better fall hike?

Any other thoughts?

TIA

Perfect time to go.
What really matters is when the last storm came through the area.

Here is a pic from a early April 2006 trip. We did LWHC Bell loop and never ran into any water.

This is a great spring trip.... but... If doing the spring trip just don't plan on Easter Weekend. There will be a couple thousand, yes thousand, folks doing the loop that weekend. My last time down on Easter weekend (2004) the nearest parking was 1 mile from the LWH trailhead at the Ding-Dang trailhead, it was a zoo.

Also, water drains out of LWH canyon fast, but don't be surprised to find a few puddles. I just piggy-backed my kids across them when they were younger so dad is the only one with wet feet.

No significant water in April, 2007. Avoid Spring Break as that seems to be where everyone goes.
