So who's getting one back and what are the plans with them. Already got mine back just today. I went ahead and did my share to stimulate the economy by buying one of these. Last one I had was lost/stolen.

A new garage roof for me. :2thumbs:

And hopefully paying off one of my vehicles and the full balance of my one and only credit card. Take that, economy!

Ya gotta work at least part time to get one back, Ice.

You know me.... If I got a refund back I'd probably just spend it on strippers and beer..... A single mom somewhere will be feeding mac and cheese to the kids tonight because I didn't get a refund.

I just ordered my first GPS... should be here today. I am also picking up a new hitch rack and some bike parts.
Oh, should be getting my first hand gun soon... either springfieldXD of Glock not 100% sure yet. But of course no bunnie blasting for me.

Elaborate on the GPS, whaddya get? I'm trying to fight off the buyers remorse of dropping 5 benjis on a GPS, but damn, 3D! Couldn't pass it up.
As for the handgun go with the Glock. They seem to hold their value better.

Got mine today. Picked up a brand spankin new Rock River AR-15 Coyote with a new Nikon scope and other fun little extras. Also picked up a used Stoeger autoloader. Still need to pick up my reloading material for the AR though.

Next, I'm getting some dental work done, buying some much-needed furniture, some computer parts to fix my old computer that I totally hosed by putting the RAM in backwards :stupid: , and my 3 months of food/water storage for my family.

I got my refund Direct Deposited to my account today (Friday) and ordered a GPS, too.

I got the Garmin eTrex Legend for $121.40 with free FedEx 3day. I'm stoked as hell since it's waterproof and has a pre-loaded base map of North and South America. It's got a bunch of features, but no color screen. I'm excited to get further into some Uinta hikes since I'm ready now.

I've got a .357 magnum to go on my side for the deeper trips, just in case. Maybe I'll buy some high powered rounds for that bad boy tomorrow when I'm getting my first FLY ROD!!!http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii272/justisaurusbucket/woot_emoticon.gif

I'm getting a 4pc Temple Fork 9' 5wt with a pretty nice reel and all the junk. I'm excited for that, too.

Before I even got home from work, I had already been to Best Buy for a new 42" Insignia LCD HDTV (1080p) for a grand. It's sweet. I, unfortunately got it up and ready to go in time for the 2nd half of the Spazz game. (GRRR)

Oh well. It's awesome. I've never had one, so it's much different finally having a nice TV.

After that, I'll probably throw the rest into a CD or something.

I can't wait for ice-off.

Tax returns kick ass.

LOAH, it sounds like you not only got your refund, but the ones that Ice and Scott didn't get. You must be one of these dudes that lets Uncle Sam act as a no-interest savings account. Not being critical, I always over-withhold myself.

Congrats on all the goodies.

I'm like Loah, if I have it, I spend it. Stuff burns a hole in my pocket. That's whay I let uncle sam "borrow" it for a year, otherwise tax season would roll around, I would get no refund and maybe even have to pay, and I wouldn't have a GPS and flat screen to show for it.

yes you would have and you would've had it sooner. Sparker1 i'm with you, I'd rather have my money now and maybe pay a little at the end of the year rather then let uncle sam "save' it for me..............Jim

I think that this will be my first year without a refund in about the last 10. It's usually around a grand, but this year I'll probably owe about 3000, due to a strange situation with capital gains and my father's estate. Fortunately, I've tucked away some of the proceeds to cover it. Back to normal next year.

Hey, out of curiosity (speaking of income) do people do the "self-funded leave" thing down there at all? I'm thinking of cutting my salary to 3/4, and working 18 months on and taking 6 months off at a time, being paid the whole time. I figure I make enough to get by on 75% of it, and half a year off every two years would be sweet. Anyone got any experiences with that?

Are you self employed? The only better then that would be job sharing.. I heard that idea from my CEO the other day.

Havent done mine yet but being as we dont have state tax...just fed, I usually get a sizeable chunk back. This year it's helping fund my trip to the Mexican Riviera in April....can you say '7 day Mexican cruise?! :2thumbs: :five: :bootyshake:

I just did mine and I'm breaking even but will get a $900 check which will go directly into the economy (new twin beds for the boys) and maybe a new pair of hiking boats, I'll blow the rest on whores.
