Driving through Jordan Landing yesterday and noticed a new store "Sports Chalet" so I stopped in for a view. At first it reminded me a lot of "Sports authority" but then I noticed some differences. They have a Scuba section with tank refills, rentals and even classes, fair climbing section, good fishing selection, good bike shop.... lots of well stocked departments featuring a lot of my favorite activities. No hunting or shooting stuff :?
checked the website today, it has tons of info and apparently they even offer Canyoneering classes http://www.sportchalet.com/corp/index.jsp?page=outdoors .
So IMO it was worth the stop :thumb:

About a year ago some of those involved told me this was going to happen "at a future date". Nice to see some decent schooling available in the area.

I like that the scuba classes are held in the store. Right behind the scuba section of the store (NW Corner) we built in a 13-14 ft deep pool for their classes.

I wonder who is teaching the canyoneering classes? Looks interesting.

For canyoneering they just drain the pool....

Looks like ATS. Check out the yahoo groups or ACA forums, you'll be sure to see some drama.

Does anybody else remember the old Wolfe's Sporting Goods in downtown SLC? Now that was a sporting goods store- I loved that place!
