I just picked up a '91 Jeep Wrangler YJ and would like to do some testing on it!
Anyone have any suggestions of where to go within 100 miles of Salt Lake City?
I know of the 5 Mile Pass area.
But anything else worth taking an afternoon to go play on? :ne_nau:

For the time being, you can still go up American Fork Canyon. The gate will probably be closing next week. 5MP has some good rock trails if you know where to look. Price has some awesome trails. Delta has some awesome trails. There's plenty of wheeling left, for now.

Look at the "trail cards" in each of these magazines:

Very cool. I didn't even know this magazine existed. Thanks for the link!

Reckon I'll have to sign up later this evening so I can get the printed version delivered :2thumbs: .

Drive up Farminton Canyon. It's graded dirt road until you get to the very top, then if you head North past the station, there are some cool dirt roads up there.

COOL!
Thanks for all the info, especially the trail cards deal! Love It!

Looks like I will have a couple cool places to go out and mess around at tommorow, if weather holds up.

East of Ogden is Monte Cristo there are enough dirt roads up there to keep you busy until you can't take it anymore. If you want a more diffucult (real)jeep trail. Providence Canyon which goes to logan peak is probably the most diffucult trail in this area. It is just east of the town of Providence.

I took that trip with Scout Master in 2005 in his little Toyota Pickup! THAT WAS A TRIP!! Providence Canyon is pretty intense! I am hoping to get up there again next summer!

I actually just got back from the American Fork Canyon area and had a blast! That is pretty tough terrain. I loved it!

Thanks for all the suggestions and I guess maybe tomorrow I'll head out to 5 Mile Pass area and check it out! :naughty:

AF is one of my favorite places in the state :cool2:

There are some great trails in the canyon, Shafer Fork, Mineral Basin, Dry Fork, Miller Hill, Mary Ellen Gulch, etc. So much history up there to be explored!
