Just wanted to post a big thanks and a hug to all the armed forces folks on uutah. Thank you for making us feel safe back in our warm homes with our families by our sides, while you guys bust your ass out there.

With out you, there wouldn't be a free America.

PS: None military folks, please join me in appreciating these brave souls.

I'll second that! Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all Veterans - past and present. :flag: My Dad spent 4 years in the Pacific theater on one of those tin can submarines after his parents signed for him to join the Navy at the ripe old age of 17.

James, you know you could always move to a less BS country....I came from one, where you'd be thrown in jail for what you are saying without your family knowing what happened to you.

I am reading a book about a Civil War in America right now, it's interesting how even back then the politicians are the ones that couldn't agree, but the soldiers are the ones were paying the price.

One part struck me close to home, when the Dixie platoon was moving from Richmond, VA to help on the west front they past a small village. At first the villagers cheered them on thinking the South was winning, but then they realized it was part of the retrieve. They realized that the only protection that stood between their safety and the Yankees was that one platoon of young soldiers. With the pull out of the platoon, they knew their end would be near. I prey to God you will never experience that feeling of those villagers.

Protest the war politics of the bureaucratic politicians, but give your thanks to the boys and gals who have been fooled in, drafted or volunteered to protect your skin in the time of need.

Thanks to the veterans, and to all those working in jobs even more dangerous making sure we have homes to live in and food on the table.

My fater-in-law was a Marine Lt. Col., 22 years, Nam and Korea Vet, and I always think of him this day. God rest.
