Who has one?

I am in the starting line at looking for property to put something on... be a small trailer or a log shack of some sort.

Anyone have links or connections with people selling land? Any one have recommendations on where to look for property?

For those that have them, where are they at and what are your thoughts about it? Worth it or not? What would you do different, what are you glad you did.

Also, kind of off topic, does any one know of a large Utah based online forums where I could advertise this same question at? No offense moderators if this was/is not cosher.

Well Id like to get a cabin in Colorado, but the distance is pushing it.
2-3 hours away is tops that I really want to commute to. After that then going to the cabin will be a bit deal and probably not visited as often.

We own 5 acres near Kolob Reservoir. It is right on the border of Zion National Park - the fence line is the National Park boundary. It is kind of cool because you cross the fence, walk 100 yards and it drops off right into Kolob Canyon. It started out as a family purchase of 20 acres (extended family). That was a big mistake. It is nice property and is fun to go to - we have a well, and built a toilet, but camp in our trailer as we don't have the time to yet as get a cabin on it. I would say it is not worth it as it is too far away, and we don't utilize it as much as we should. We can't sell it either, as part of the deal was we have to sell it back to the family and we can't do that without ticking off someone else in the family - just a big game.

Fourtycal and I looked at some property up there right near Kolob Res last year when we were down riding - beautiful area, very tempting but we both live too far away to make it viable.
