I went to breakfast this morning in Springdale and was wondering what was everyones favorite place to eat while they were visiting Zion and where those who live near by like to frequent.
For me I usually go to the Spotted Dog Cafe (because I get to eat free).
When my wife and I go out for lunch we like the Whiptail or Cafe Soleil.
How about everyone else? While in Zion, where do you eat?

Oscar's and Pizza Noodle are the two places I always end up.

I'll hit a restaurant in Springdale every once in a while, but lately we've headed out to Hurricane to eat. Our favorite by far is Lupita's. It's the dumpy Mexican place on the east end of town, just after HWY 9 turns to the west (or just before HWY 9 turns north, depending on whether you're coming from or going to Zion). The food is really good, inexpensive, and plentiful. You'll know you're at the right place because there's a minature Statue of Liberty out front. If you order the fried icecream don't get more than one for 2 or 3 people. The monster burritos are only for the extremely hungry.
Hunan City is pretty good too. It's a couple blocks west of Lupita's in a strip mall.

They are pretty good....
I feel sorry for all you noob's to Zion. About 7 or 8 years ago the Bit-N-Spir had the best food in Utah. It was really something special. But then the Cheif left and started his own place over in Glendale called the Buffalo Bistro.... that's a good place to stop if you are on the east side of Zion. Only thing I suggest is you call ahead to make sure they are open because the owner/cheif is a little flakey. Also has good beer on tap.

I ate at the Whiptail Cafe on Friday. The food was great (mmm, fish tacos) but the service was... lacking. All of us sitting out on the patio were grumbling. The food, as I said, mostly made up for it, though.

Oscars. Love that Hawaiian burger. Dang good.Ya except when I'm buyin' and everyone is too exhausted, feels like crap, and no one wants to eat after ORDERING that dang good Hawaiian burger. Jeez, its like taking a girl on a date who orders and then doesn't eat anything. Right Dan? :lol8:

:roflol: Yeah, those burgers don't taste so good when you are dehydrated... And no one said you had to pay for us. I think you were just feeling bad that we almost missed the shuttle bus out of there... :lol8:

The service is usually slow. Everything is made from scratch, and the owner is the only cook. When it gets busy it can take a few minutes, but the wait is worth it.
I like Oscars too.

Another east Zion spot:
May of 2006 had breakfast at the Thunderbird Lodge restaurant. Very tasty food and remarkable service. Then again maybe not so remarkable since i was sitting at the table not only with Bo "Bonhomie" Beck but the gracious owners of the lodge, Tanya and Gordon. Guaranteed great dining when you sit down with that trio (and they pick up the tab, too).

I passed by that one when I went to meet Acca and 'Beech last weekend..... about the same time the radio had an ad for it.. making sure we knew it is not hooters! It looks rustic and deadish...
But sometimes those places have the best food!
There is another like that... deadish and great food.... Is it in Hatch? Adobe something? Awesome food, but I think its for sale.

~smooch~ --- The wild men marathon hike dinner :five:
But note: Home of the Ho-Made Pies. :haha: Although I am half owner of the place, my brother is the other half... he runs the restaurant. So anything good or bad with it is his doing. I run the Hotel, Gift Shop and Chevron. I am not thrilled with his management at all. When my mom ran it, the restaurant was much better.
