My wife and I are going to be headed down to the Zion area for our anniversary the first weekend of October, and are looking for suggestions on some good hikes to do while we are there....what are your recommendations both outside and inside the park...?

I loved the view from observation point. We took the trail from weeping rock and it is KILLER! I don't really know anything outside the park, I have a few that I would like to do but haven't done them yet so I will let Tanya, Bo, and Tom, Shane, etc do the recommending.

If you wanted to get into canyoneering I bet you could find a guide that would do it for free on here :2thumbs:

What level of hiking? On trail? Off trail? Etc????

Everyone must do Angels Landing however, if you have not done it.

I didn't do it last fall when I was there! It's my first order of business October 11th, when I arrive on my next trip...

I concur with Observation Point. For a shorter hike, the Emerald Pools are nice. From the top one, look up, look waaaay up and see if anyone is rapping down from Heaps. And hiking up the Narrows is splendid.

But Tanya & Bo are the SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) - what they say goes!

We're definately up for some off-trail stuff, I'm not looking for little hikes, but 4-7 hour hikes. I'd like to do Parunuweap, but wondering how cold the water will be. We may definately do angel's landing, I've done it several times, but my wife never has. I'd prefer not to be stuck in crowds all day.
