View Full Version : Hawk Released
Got up at 8am, jumped in the car and headed down to Price with the family. Made it good timing, met up with Debbie and her volunteers and drove 6 miles towards Huntington. Then we turned off towards the hills and drove for another 3 miles. On top of a 500 foot cliff, we released the hawk. I was given the honors of doing it and it sure felt great to release the proud bird.

That's fantastic - really beautiful to see.
The look on your boy's face as the hawk tries to escape in the kitchen is priceless!
I hope Debbie's heartburn gets better soon.

That's for sure, got a couple of feathers that the hawk left for me as he flew off. Would be great for my kid's show and tell in school.
I told Debbie, to keep this site in mind whenever she needs some technical rescues, I am sure at the next opportunity arrives we will have more volunteers :2thumbs:

That is awesome! My friend is involved with the raptor center in Juneau AK. Sometimes he stores eagles at his house that have been injured but they never release their birds after they have been in captivity. That is way cool to see that hawk be re-admitted to the wild.
I need more worth while hobbies and activities like this. Way to be!
Not really a hobby, we were canyoneering through ZeroG canyon and stumbled upon the injured hawk. Marc and I went back to the canyon to rescue it with this lady and then she took care of the bird until the hawk was ready to get released.
