I have put this case through a couple of canyons in zion (Pinecreek, Keyole twice, and Spry) It is small enough to not be a problem. I hook it on my shoulder strap and take it out when needed. I had to put a little foam in it to keep my camera from bouncing around. The case is very hard. My brother-in-law dropped his on the rocks and it didn't cause any damage. The camera stayed dry through all the canyons, except for my wet hands touching it. Highly recommended, and only $15.

Great case, I agree (own 2).

But...known problems:

1) accidental opening has resulted in camera loss for at least one person I know (Randi). A stout rubber band across the box can help.

2) LEAKING The seal is great when new and completely clean. That condition disappears quickly! I would not trust this case to keep my camera dry if immersed. Splash/dip/bash guard only. This thing is tough!

Thanks Hank.

I will have to remember a rubber band next time.

I didn't mention that when I used these they were brand new. The first one through keyhole and pinecreek. Then I lost it so I bought a new one and took it through keyhole and Spry. I did get sand on the seal and it still worked YMMV.

Pelican website reads on all micro cases:

GREAT FOR RUGGED SPORTS - NOT FOR SWIMMING OR SUBMERGING
