New Photo & Video Forum?

I am thinking we could use a separate forum for people who want to get better at photography/video. I am thinking of it as a place where we could all dump our pictures to get some feedback from the more professional uutah folks, or even unprofessional ones. For example, what people like about a photo, what could be improved on , etc.

I know the General forum could cover it now, but the threads would get buried very quickly.

I wouldn't mind that either, like the Whitewater/Flatwater/Fish one could be combined together. So could Hike/Backpacking. :popcorn:

I agree, some definitely need to be condensed... Though I am kinda partial to having a photography section myself.

I think that would be a great Idea I enjoy taking photo's and would love to have a place to discuss techniques and anything else to do with photography. :2thumbs:

I think it's pretty neat that this place offers just about something for everyone. It's nice to be able to have like-minded people getting together and talking about the things they're interested in. Obviously the ones that want to see forum areas lumped together are the ones they really have no interest in what is being lumped. Keep in mind, they're are interests in those areas where some feel that there isn't enough.

As far as photography, again I think it would be a good area for people to share and learn. Nobody who pulls out a camera to take a pic wants a crappy pic. It could be an educational area for people to learn and pick up tips that may prevent some of those crappy pics :mrgreen:

I would suggest we start some threads in General Discussion that can be moved to the Dark Room once it's created, to avoid an empty, new forum.

Maybe you guys should start some threads on specific subjects like Photoshop Tips, Web based photo editting, specific camera brands, video editing, etc... Try to be as specific as possible to build more threads, yadda yadda ya.

Then, we can move these if/when the new forum is created. :2thumbs:

yup take the forum where you want it to go. i think it goes without saying, please keep the criticism appropriate and sensitive when "trashing" others' photos.
