Im a transplant to Utah from the east coast(here due to military service) and new to this fourm.

Ive been in Utah for almost a year now and have mostly stuck to the top of Utah(weber, davis, morgan, and cashe county area) enjoy fishing, hiking, rafting, landscape and nature photography and looking to meet like minded people.

One thing I would like to know is this, are there places to cliff jump in reseveriors or rivers up in my area or places that are a decent drive?

is that guy wearing a life jacket?

I have now idea, I stole that pic off the web.

Here is a shot from the trail above the lake looking west towards the dam. There are several jumping places on that point in the center. The lake drops several feet later in the summer making it even higher.

Also is there anyway to get there from the south without having to go way up into Logan?

What's up, waltny? Glad to see you made the jump. I still spend most of my forum time on the DWR site, but hopefully in the future, we'll see more people posting their fishing adventures here. The more the merrier, right?

(I have to admit...This site offers a much wider variety of emoticons, too. :2thumbs: )

There are plenty of places to cliff jump around. Causey is a great place, but requires you wear a life jacket any time you are in the water (State Law). You can also jump at Porcupine reservoir up near Logan. My favorite place are Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell of course, bigger, better cliffs. Enjoy and welcome to the site. :2thumbs:

The only problem with the 'Gorge and Powell are the distance to drive. I went and checked out Causey this evening and those cliffs should do just fine for now. I took some pics and now I just have to convince some buddies to head up there with me....

BTW would anyone happen to know if it is faster to get to Porcupine from the south(Layton/Clearfield area) by taking HW162 out of Liberty to Paradise or up the 15 to Hyrum and cutting across?

Thanks for all the replies.

If you like cliff jumping, rafting and fishing..... I have one word for you... Westwater! It's a canyon on a Colorado river, but requires a permit which is hard to come by and should be reserved 2 months in advance. There are quite a few cliff jumping sites along the stretch.

Welcome to the site.
