It's being reported on SummitPost (http://www.summitpost.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=29948) that the Corner Canyon gate at the Orson Smith trailhead in Draper is open, and there is now vehicular access to the Jacob's Ladder trailhead.

So, who wants to hit Lone Peak with me?

Nice.... starting at Jacobs Ladder cuts out a bunch of elevation gain. A few years back you could 4x4 to the base of the Big Rock and that was really sweet.

Unfortunately, I'm busy for the next two weekends. Maybe later in July when it gets really hot. (Safety first!)

I'll post another message in this forum when I get some time to go.

This is a great hike in the fall when the leaves are changing color.

I see how you roll... Tease and dissappoint.

I guess I'll try my hand at Cascade instead, granted the brush fire is contained before Sunday.

Just spoke with a fella from Draper Parks. The Corner Canyon Gate will be open from 6 am to 10 pm through out the summer. The road is open to any street licensed vehicle (no ATV's). The road is open from the bottom up to what they are now calling the "Ghost Falls Trailhead". The Ghost Falls Trailhead is better known as the Jacob's Ladder Trailhead. There is a trailhead at the bottom gate which is called the Orson Smith Trailhead.

We now return you to our regularly schedule programing.

Thanks for the update Ice, good info.

This one is the next peak to fall on my "Utah County 8" list... So as soon as the weather cools down a hair, I'd be happy to have some company. Although, I might consider doing it from the Dry Creek TH in Alpine, so I can keep with the "Utah County" theme...
