Hello, I am going to be doing some canyons in Zion's from the 29th of June through the 1st of July. There are two people in my group right now and I was wondering if anyone was interested hooking up for a car shuttle. I am pretty flexible as to which canyons to do. I missed reading Matt's post before he left for Vegas, so if anyone could let me know where mosquito flats is located around Zion I'll see if he is still looking for partners.

Hi Weston, I just got off the phone with Matt and I sent you a PM.
He's got a partner for Sat., but no plans as of yet.

Maybe you and your friend could hook up with them as well?

I'll be out there on Fri. night, looking for Matt and my friend Scott who're both staying at the cove. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet you too? Hope so.

Randi, I think you are refering to Mosquito Cove? It is at between mile marker 23 and 24 I think on route 9. If you are driving from St. George to Zion... Pass thru Virgin on your way and keep your eye peeled starting at mile post 22 off to your right and down. You'll see a flat area off the road nestled amongs't the cottonwood trees and probably see some tents and campers. That is Mosquito Cove.

It is about 100 yards west of mile post 24. Can't miss it, there will be huge groups of people holding hands and singing "kumbaya."

No "Kumbaya" when I was there last. My daughters and I pulled in there at 2AM a few weeks ago ~ some camp was however, blasting rock music! We threw our bags out, hit the sack figuring it would quiet down soon. No such luck!

The music droned on for at least a couple more hours. I was too tired to move, and go find the b#%@8&rds and ask them to shut the h*ll up.
Come 7AM, Sarah's voice is screaming in my ear "Oh my god! WAKE UP! I'm covered in ANTS!" And she was! In our sleep deprived comatose state wee hours earlier, we'd laid our bags out near a huge ant hill!

What a bad experience that whole ordeal was!

BTW ~ I found the camp on our way out and gave them a piece of my mind :frustrated: in retrospect, albeit too politely.
