Photoshop is, yes... those clouds, however, are real -- and spectacular.

I highly doubt that those images are raw, with no digital enhancement.

C'mon CarpeyBiggs - you got my back, right?

The colors may be enhanced, but not the cloud shapes. I've seen clouds just like that many times.

Photoshop? What the hell is that? Never heard of such a thing.

But I do know this is some sort of darkroom chemical treatment gone bad....

Scott, you ever seen clouds that look like that??

Yes, several times (though as stated, not quite in the same colors). See below for how they are formed:

I think the color has indeed been enhanced. Check this out (original):

I am sure the clouds are real... The image I posted was linked directly from the original source, which just goes to show he was horsing around with it in photoshop maybe just a hair....

Having grown up in KS, I've seen clouds like that occassionally. The first one has been color enhanced, but the cloud pattern is real. :2thumbs:

you can see clouds like that in utah ... why i've seen 'em over salt lake a number of times.

sorry rock, the clouds are real ... anyone who doesn't believe so should simply check books or websites on different cloud formations.

i have a whole folder of mammatus images from this guy.

I was going through some of the photos I have taken and found some cloud pics I took last summer right from my house and remebered this old thread. While not as dramatic perhaps I believe they are the same type of clouds. These were taken with a cheap camera from my back yard.

I remember seeing something similar in Iraq. It was quite a sight and somehow not the most amazing weather pattern I saw there.

I love that pic. It's been all over the email circuit for some time.

Definitely real though. I've seen some really neat clouds, myself. The closest match I've seen to the original pic in this post,..no camera, of course.

I got lucky once, though. These are from a trip to Strawberry that I took a few years ago. The pics were taken on a funsaver point and click...please pardon the crappy scan quality:

I see them around in Kansas every once in a while, pretty neat. They're called mammatus clouds I think? Could be wrong though...
