HOLY MOTHER OF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:hail2thechief: :hail2thechief: :hail2thechief:

Wow, how did I ride before? A Univega? :ne_nau:

I broke in the new bike today. We did an unmentionable trail that I would have never attempted on my old bike. What a difference a decade makes to technology. I can't wait to take it down Porqupine this fall. :2thumbs:

Anyway, I'm ready to ride so post up the Tuesday nighters.

Sweet! What year/frame design did you get? Isn't it amazing the difference it makes with a quality frame/components, and fork?

Congrats - there's nothing like the feeling of a brand new bike :) Well, almost nothing. :haha:

danggggg........ Nice.. :2thumbs: I hear they are selling like hot cakes at the LBS. I'm looking at the Anodized Orange for wifey.. bu we'll see. her '04 Enduro is still kickin, so it's hard to justify the $$. 6" of travel under 30 lbs though.. Can't complain.

Have fun, and post some pics when you get them. We all like new bike porn

Imagine this in Orange.. Hot!

Looks nice, I have been looking at the carbon version of this bike, I have narrowed it down between a few but I may be leaning toward the carbon enduro. I need to see a little more feedback before I make the choice.

Mtbr's Specialized forum has a ton of threads about reviews on the new SL's.. check it out if you haven't already.

The only thing I'm leery about on this bike is, how do you think it would perform somewhere like Deer Valley? Can a 28 lb Downhill bike (that'd be the carbon frame) hold up in the rough stuff? :ne_nau: If it does, props to the Big S. She's a sweet looking ride.

Shling- any pics yet?

I would like to see any 28 lb bike try to hold up to the Deer Valley trails. It would have to be a 100 lb rider. Carbon fiber is great as long as it doesn't get scratched. Most downhill style bikes get laid down or launched a few times during their lifetime on a downhill type trail or race course.

Here it is the day I bought it. Only thing different from this pic to now is a few scratches on the handlebars and the original pedals are gone, along with the reflectors.

He had that look on his face like "w-what are you doing to my brand new bike?"

Me- Ya gotta take these off, man.
MTP - but what if I'm riding in the street at night?
Me- then you should be asking yourself why you're not on a trail.

WIth all the asking and probing around, the word from most of the Specialized shops and specialized themselves is that the carbon frame is stronger that the alum. frame and that even goes along with any impacts? I still am struggling to get by that. My type of riding wouldnt be hitting crazy downhill trails every week, I think it would be sweet to have a 28lb ride that I can still climb with and do some great trails and then bomb the crap out of them?
