We are planning on hiking up to an old cabin tomorrow. Meet at the Fernwood Park trailhead at 9:00am

The hike is 1.85 miles with 1400' elevation. We will be geocaching along the way.

We did it the hardway. Bushwacking the whole way. This was in the area of the fire. The cabin is within a few yards of the burn area. We came upon three rattlesnakes. Them buggers always scare me. I tried for a picture, but the wouldn't hold still. They just ran away.

Nice pictures. I have never been up to the cabin. I hike that area alot but mostly stay on the trails. I guess I will have to venture off the trail and see what I can find... :2thumbs:

The trail takes you right to the cabin. It isn't that bad of a hike at all. We were only out for 2 1/2 hours and circled around the valley.

It was 4 mile round trip with 1500' elevation on the way up.

One of these days I am going to have to take a day off work and come with you guys. Great pic btw
