We are cruising down to do Mystery this weekend and was wondering if anyone has an update or trip report from a recent visit.
I am also going with him to Mystery. I am wondering about the wetsuit. I dont have one and I would prefer not to have to carry it in. Is it possible to get away without a wet suit? I am a big guy and dont get cold easily, but I'm worried about being wet in the canyon and freezing.

I have only done mystery at the end of summer but I wouldn't take a wetsuit. When I have gone through it, it has been mostly dry until the very end. From what I understand the pool at the bottom of the downclimb after mystery spring is still full of sand, as well as the pool at mystery spring so they aren't the swimmers they used to be.
Ok on more question. What is the best way to shuttle with only one car and avoid hiking from the Weeping rock TH.
We wanted to start (and leave our car)at the East Rim TH and then at the end of the day find a shuttle from springdale/zion area and have them take one of us back up to our car at the TH. This saves on shuttle fees, we are too cheap to pay $28 a person for everyone in our group to do it in the morning. And we will only have one car, and 4 people.
We may just have to suck it up and hike the weeping rock trail.

That pretty much guarantees you will be hiking up from Weeping Rock.
Time wise the shuttle is no faster if you include cleaning up the shuttle at the end of the day. Energy wise is a big difference.
No wet suits required..... YMMV.

Thank you sir.
I was hoping there would be another way to do it but it looks like weeping rock it is. I'm just worried about time in the canyon after last weekends adventure, I know I shouldn't be. looks like the legs are going to get a workout.

why don't you arrange for an afternoon shuttle for one person to recover the car. the others can wait at the junction or vc or whatever.
call them from the vc and off you go.

This will work, except half your group will be sitting around for over two hours with nothing to do. It takes about 1 hour each way to retrieve a Mystery shuttle.

We have a couple more guys coming now, so our permit is full. We will hopefully be able to get a shuttle from one of them. Crossing my fingers. We may just hike from Weeping rock TH just to save from driving 2+ hours at the end of the day.

And - the shuttle service is not a taxi service. While special shuttles CAN be arranged, this is not really what they do. So it will cost Ya. Likely they have a two-person minimum for pulling out of the driveway.
Get up early, hike up by Weeping Rock. As long as you get going early and do the hike while the temps are still pleasant, it should not be a problem. Mystery is not really very long, in a small party of 4. Not having to fetch the shuttle is definitely a bonus. That time can be spent drinking the beverage of your choice.
