I could be mistaken, but the first one looks like it was taken along the rim of Thompson Canyon in the Fisher Creek system right near the trailhead into the canyon.
If I'm correct on that location of the photo, there is an old forgotten cattle and outlaw trail dropping into the canyon from where the photo was taken. I assume you don't have much (if any?) interest in hiking, but if you are interested in what the canyon looks like below the 4wd road, here is an album from my last trip:

Here is a map of how to get into that canyon:

That sure looks like it Scott :2thumbs: If you head over to the 4x4 section I posted pics of Onion Creek where we entered. We headed up a semi-steep hill and the trail took a left and followed the top of a canyon. It eventually switched back to the left and up and before we made our way to the top, a Jeep had a flat and we all stopped and waited. We got out of the Jeeps and walked over to where this outcropping was and from that point I took quite a few pics. At least I wasn't bouncing around in the back of Jeep for these :lol8:
As far as a hike down, not up to that at this point :haha: Maybe in the future and when we're out here for EJS, there just isn't any down time. It's all go, go, go
