The Replacements were banned from the show...when it came time for them to perform their first number...they were intoxicated and several cast members were unsure whether they could perform.

Ummm...go back and watch some of the episodes from the late 70s and early 80s. Trust me, The Replacements weren't the first people to be drunk or high during the live broadcast. (I'm looking at you, Belushi).

Yeah, sad deal with the Replacements. Used to be a favorite band of mine. Saw them when they played here in Utah.

Dying from wearing yourself out from abuse. Yikes.

In more recent years, watchin' the lip synch que up gone wrong from Ashley Simpson was pretty darn hilarious. So much for live TV!

Still hard to believe that KSL doesn't carry SNL. Friends from out of town/state think that's pretty wierd...

Nah, last weekend's was pretty fun.

Early years had some shows that were super boring. Post Eddy for instance. In the early early on, it was cool because it was new and very much in vogue. But, watch some of that early stuff. A nugget every once and a while, but, not solid for sure.

Been pretty ok as of last. I'll admit to going to Weekend Update then usually baggin' it after that.

More better more often now that in the past, IMHO.

Nice thing about the DVD re-release of the early shows. You can easily skip the boring stuff.

It seems weird that Chevy Chase can keep being on the show after he was banned.
