Two Nepali men, who also happen to be world record holders on Mount Everest, are now living in Utah. Apa Sherpa, world record holder with 16 summits of the tallest mountain on Earth, and Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa, world record holder for the fastest summit on Everest from base camp, will make another historic attempt this spring in an effort to bring knowledge about the Sherpa people to the world.

Apa and Lhakpa leave for Kathmandu on their SuperSherpas Expedition on Wednesday. The Salt Lake REI store, 3285 E. 3300 South, East Millcreek, is holding a farewell party at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

People will be able to follow the SuperSherpas Expedition via The Salt Lake Tribune through a video blog, pictures and messages from Mount Everest Base Camp starting April 12 at the Trib's Web page - www.sltrib.com. In the meantime, visit www.super sherpas.com for information on the expedition.

The men will talk about the SuperSherpas Expedition and answer questions about their native home of Nepal at REI.

For a more intimate evening with Apa and Lhakpa, consider attending a dinner Friday at 6 p.m. at the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird. The Snowbird Renaissance Center is hosting the event, which includes a reception, auction and dinner.

Tickets are $100 for the Snowbird dinner, and proceeds will help pay for the Super
