Wow.... the ACA Canyoneering Manual now has it's own website.

Canyons-Skills and Techniques
http://www.canyoneering.us

I wonder if this means it's actually nearing publication? I've been hearing about this mythical beast since at least 1999. I've even had the pleasure of reading several draft versions of different chapters.

Heck.... last year you could even order the book from the 2006 Mountain Gear Catalog..... but no matter how many days you stood waiting at the mailbox it would never arrive.

It will be great if this book ever actually reaches publication. The canyon community could really use a good technical reference.

Yeah, I keep hearing about it, but it never comes out. Sounds like it'd be nice, if it ever does.

Latest Update: The book is reported to be coming out in two volumes, but when is anyones guess.

The first volume will include material from the ACA's Technical Canyoneering, most of Advanced Canyoneering and a bit of Canyon Rescue course. Second volume will include more anchors, more advanced and more rescue.
