Kellick Creek Flash Flood 10th Feb 2007

Of course I have no clue where Kellick Creek actually is but the video is pretty cool.

Flash Flood in Kellick Creek at Ringwood Road Crossing 10 miles south west of Merriwa.

that is pretty cool, Ive never really seen a flash flood in real life. I was suprised at how fast it came. It wasn't a stream that got bigger quickly like I thought.

But it can be a stream that gets bigger quickly. I watched Pine Creek flood first from the top and then at the swimming hole. We could hear it coming well before it actually came then the water started to get dirty and rise gently for a just a few seconds then it rose very quickly. And I mean very quickly. From dirty water to roaring torrent was about 15 to 20 seconds at the swimming hole. It would be much quicker me thinks in a slot canyon and probably much more violent. It was impressive.
