On some of the cooler weekends we like to hike in the Red Cliffs Reserve either from St George or Leeds. This is a great area of red rock and I think there are probably some interesting canyons. A guide from Spr ingdale told me they are looking hard at this area.

Entering thru the Babylon area to Sand Cove campground there is a great
hike down to a large arch and a little further to the Virgin River. Entering from the West side of RT15 off Old Hwy 91 you can access an area very similar to the Wave. Going in off Main St in Washington there are several hikes including one to Elephant Arch. Going in thru Silver Reef off RT-15
you enter thru a fee area ($2.00) and hike up a wash into a nce canyon. I've got to explore this more!

I included some pictures to wet your appetite.

Read and looked at this with great interest as I'm in the area soon!
I've tried to find more information with the help of google, but it seems the official site www.redcliffsdesertreserve.com is down.
Does anyone know where I can get more information, like a map, trail guide ...

PM me your email address and I'll email you the maps.

There are 9 maps and each is about 1 mb.

There is at least one great beginner friendly tech canyon in the area

Eva,

The BLM office in St George has a map of Red Cliffs but the map is not very helpful. Your best bet would be to stop and ask direct questions or PM me and I'll try to help you out.
There are several trailheads into the Reserve and it's a little confusing if you're not familiar with the area.

I see, I really have to get into technical canyoneering one day...
What a pity I don't live out there, if so, I probably would be able to do all these great trips

We'll spend the night in St. George so should be able to show up at the office. Or maybe, after getting an overview, I contact you again - thanks for the offer!
