They're talking a lot about it. It's funny they say they'll do DNA tests. It's probable that DNA from someone that old would not be usable. So, if they find a body, extract usable DNA, have nobody to compare with...That's great, they have some old corpse that they still can't tell who it is :roflol:

Yeah, I laughed when I heard about it. I don't see how they claim to his DNA other than being from the same time period.

There is a book written by Jeff Long called "Year Zero". It is about how they took DNA from religious artifacts and cloned people trying to clone JC. Pretty good book.

That does sound like an interesting read. There was an old G.I. Joe episode with a similar concept. I'm guessing your book was a lot better.

Well, I ain't buyin' it. The only one talking about this is the film maker. Apparently there have been scientists and other bone diggers that have been studying this for years now and the only one who is saying this is the film maker, at least that is what some folks have said on the news. This would have been huge news when the thing was discovered a couple of decades ago if there was any real truth about it. So...... I'm calling :bs: This guy is just trying to make a buck it sounds like to me.

All the nay sayers are weighing in on this - scientists, theologins, etc... Interesting story / theory all the same. KLS.com story notes that completed DNA only shows that the bones labeled Jesus and Mayr M are not siblings.

But... what if the DNA only shows 1 set of known strands... the other being... shall we say... otherworldly??? What then would be the media take? Where would you stand on it then? At long last a single strand of "proof" to support thousands of years of faith?

Just sayin...

If there were some sort of proof of higher power, I would of course be shocked but I would still call it luck on their part.

I read an account once that claimed Christ didn't die on the cross but died in a battle when he was 45 (or so).

It's on Sunday Night...

Should be interesting. They can track distant history now with DNA.
One of the caskets even bears the title, "Judah, son of Jesus," hinting that Jesus may have had a son, according to the film. The claim that Jesus even had an ossuary contradicts the Christian belief that he was resurrected and ascended to heaven.

A panel of scholars that joined the filmmakers Monday at the New York Public Library addressed that criticism and others.

James Tabor, a professor of religious studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, said that while literal interpreters of the Bible say Jesus' physical body rose from the dead, "one might affirm resurrection in a more spiritual way in which the husk of the body is left behind."
