I couldn't believe what this guy had to say about Christopher Reeve. (http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=creeve) Yikes!

A tribute to real men.
When did it become acceptable in this country for a man to go from being a rugged, plaid-wearing, beef jerky eating badass to a well-groomed, "metrosexual" girly-boy like Ben Affleck? Affleck recently agreed to be a spokesman for L'Oreal, with L'Oreal quoted as saying "Ben embodies a new generation of men who show their strength in their personality but are not afraid to care for their appearance." Afraid of taking care of their appearances? It's not that we're afraid you assholes, it's that we don't menstruate. What next? Men getting hormone injections so they can breast feed?
"Ben embodies a new generation of men who show their strength in their personality but are not afraid to breast feed their children."
Is it okay that I don't have a sense of style? Is it okay for me to scratch myself? I'm hairy. I like wearing plaid and I don't want to be told how to dress by some dude with a "queer eye." Is that okay with you sissies, or would you like me to package my balls and neatly carry them in a purse? For crying out loud. You're turning us into a nation of pussies.
That's why I wrote this tribute to real men, the kind of men who perpetuate our species, don't know what conditioner is used for, and don't apologize for not wearing makeup. Without further ado, real men:
YES!!!!!!!!! I could not agree MORE!!!!!
Men should be MEN!

Yes, he went too far... and really got lost on Ralston, but I liked the first part!

Maddox is awesome
I don't buy (or even understand) everything he says, but he certainly has a way with words.

Some things this guy writes are rather humorous (think "The Man Show") and can be laughed off - but he condones wife-beating. Oh, but only if she "needs" it. Please.........I thought this kind of guy went out with greased back ducktails, rolled T-shirt sleeves over cigarette packs, etc.

Ben could use a nice plaid flannel shirt. I killed me when HOUSE wore pink in one of his shows. I got over it though. :haha:

I agree there are some definite good points - especially about society trying to turn men into (using his term here) pussies. I like men to be real men too. I'm tired of seeing all the gay shows that "help" the poor heterosexual guy who doesn't have a clue (the whole time you know this guy wants to punch the lights out of all the gay guys if he could get away with it). He makes some good points, but then goes overboard with some of the comments. Oh well - what difference. It's his website - let him beat his big ol' monkey chest to his heart's content. :lol8:

How about it MEN!
Do you want the Playboy Channel and the wife won't let you?
Do hate to do dishes but the wife makes you?
Hate to do laundry but that is your assigned (by the wife) duty?
Should you really have to do the yard and clean the house too?
What's up?

1. Nope. Don't watch TV. And there's enough on the Wide Wide World of Web.
2. If my wife loads the dishwasher, I have to empty it and start again. That's MY job.
3. I'll do occasional loads of laundry, but she usually does it.
4. Yard? That's what we hire a service for. If I want to do something outside, I'll wash the car, or go for a bike ride. Or drink beer on the deck.
My wife is a stay-at-home mom. She does most of the housekeeping stuff, I bring home a paycheck. She does most of the "child rearing" by default (she's around more than I am, duh). Sure there are times I could be more helpful (and she lets me know) but all in all, our "traditional" arrangement works for us.
I don't wear pink, I wouldn't dream of hitting a woman, and when I was a rebellious teen goth - well, eyeliner was de rigeur. (Yeah, that's right. Get over it!) My kids made me a bracelet of colourful beads for Father's Day last June, and I still have it on. It looks like I'm into Rainbow Pride (and I'm all for that) but it's just a gift from my kids. Plaid? I can't stand the stuff. Reminds me of the asshole bullies in high school.
By the way, it pisses me off when I hear the word "gay" in a "that's so gay" way. Gay is fine. Whatever. When people equate gay to "lame", I see red. And if those guys want to punch the gay guys' lights out because they don't want to be told how to dress, that's fine. If they want to do it because they don't like "fags" - that's not fine. The guys here snickering about "gaydar" and "gay" this & that really makes you wonder... Holy shit, I'm starting to rant. Better stop now.
Manly? Whatever. I don't have to flaunt my testosterone. I'm a confident male, and I don't care if I look macho in the eyes of others. F@*# 'em.

I cook, clean, do laundry and cut and put up firewood. We share the load and don't make a big issue about it.
By the way, I came in from the forest once stinking of wood chips, sweat, bar oil and gasoline, and my wife said that smell -- if bottled -- would be the best selling cologne in history.

I think it's only offensive to say something is gay if you have something against gays. I doubt anyone here feels that way.
Sounds like you have a good setup. As long as you are happy with it. I think it's cute when men wear something the kids made for them.

No Cowboys for me.
I just like men that are natural. They look good but don't primp much. They dress casual (no cowboy hats or cowboy boots or anything like that) and don't spend a fortune on their clothes or things like special barbers, manicures, facials and such. (My husband wears the plaid flannel long sleeve shirts in the winter) I like passionate men that share their feelings but are strong mentally and very very sexual. They are in control and they know it, but yet they have the kind of control that people respect. They are the type of guy that other men like too. They are kind to people, helpful and caring. They would never wear a speedo.
