On my desk I only have a keyboard, phone, monitor, & printer but it is always a mess. I usually have stacks of dvds and cds all around, power tools, & the glasses from the water I drink.

Watch those glasses of water. About two hours ago, I was playing games on my laptop with my 5 year-old (twin) grand-daughters. I didn't notice that one of them brought a glass of water when she joined me. They were having so much fun, the glass got tipped...into my laptop keyboard. I shut down, unplugged, removed the baterry, poured/wiped all the water I could, the ran the hair dryer. Still, when plugged in again, it will not power up. This is a 17 inch, Dual Core machine I bought in Nov.

That sucks. I usually drink my water pretty fast, but it is a good reminder to be careful. Thanks.

Oh, the joy! After waiting 24 hours to make sure its innards were dry, I plugged in the power and ....it booted up. Sure saves a lot of money and trouble, and serves as a pretty good reminder why we never allowed food or drink in our data centers.
