Not really, but this video is floating around with that title attached to it.

I wasn't convinced it was real (I still wonder about the audio), but apparently it is, it's Brad Gerlach towing in Mike Parsons at Jaws, as part of the Billabong Odyssey. The Odyssey is a multi-year attempt to ride the elusive 100 footer.

Note: Jaws is a break off Maui's North Shore, when conditions are ripe, maybe a dozen times a year, it generates extremely fast surf up to 70'.

I saw that the other day, and I wasn't sure what to think. It looks unbelievable.

No kidding, I am wading through them on utube right now, doubtlessly I'll add more clips to this thread. I haven't watched a surf movie in a long time, I need to check out the current crop.

One flick they show all the time here in Utah, on PBS (KUED) is Condition Black, a great look at big wave surfing in Hawaii. I've caught it maybe a dozen times, it never gets old to me, Ken Bradshaw is the man in that one.

That's no Tsunami Wave, it doesn't show him weaving in and out debris as he closed in on shore :haha:

If you haven't already seen it, you definitely have to check out Riding Giants (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0389326/) by Stacy Peralta. It's totally, totally amazing. It covers everything from Jaws to Mavericks. (And, it's a documentary, not a strictly surf movie, so there's a lot of good background information in there, too).

And a lot of good music. I was impressed of Maverick and Teahupoo in that surf movie, real cool.
Unbelievable, in 2005 Keala Kennelly was the first woman riding Teahupoo. Really tough.
More big waves are in the Movie Step Into Liquid. Also one of my favorites

:hail2thechief: Laird is a master! I have sat on the concrete wall at the lookout on Ho'okipa Beach Maui for HOURS and watched the big stuff coming in wave after wave...in AWE! I could have watched the pros for hours ...DID watch 'em for hours! AWESOME
