I miss college football. I was going to post this message days after the bowl season, but I decided to hold off as long as I could.

I'm not a huge college football fan, but I do miss NFL football already. Nothing better than spending your whole sunday watching NFL ticket

I just realized that I was in the fantasy sports section instead of "sports junkie" (sorry about that).

If Utah had an NFL team I would probably appreciate NFL more, but as it is I just don't have a team and that makes it harder to get in to it for me.

Plus I hate how fickle most pro fans are. Often when players get traded fans are upset that the players weren't more loyal to the team but if that same player does bad for 2 years the fans want them traded. I just feel like there is a lack of loyalty and dedication in NFL that you really get in college.

I watched an interview last year with Bo Jackson. He was asked if he missed playing football and replied he missed playing for a team, but he had not done that since college. He did not miss playing for work. Work football was not fun but playing for the team was.

Hawaii is playing off the island. Hawaii had a very hard time with a poor Pac 10 team. I really think they can't handle a larger quicker defense like Georgia. The QB will have to be firing hard because I think he is going to eat some turf.

Hawaii's problem in that game was never Washington.... it was that Hawaii kept shooting themselves in the foot the entire first quarter.... to come back and win after making that many turnovers just shows how good they really are. Not many teams could have done that. and Hawaii will not make those turnovers again...

Also... Hawaii will have more time to acclimate to the main land then they do during a normal season game. I don't see the travel being a big issue with this game.

The last couple of weeks Georgia has been playing like the best team in the country.


Last year I was a big supporter of BSU against Oklahoma but I think the BCS has set Hawaii up with a nearly impossible feat. If Georgia plays the way they have this last month, I don't think Hawaii has too much of a chance.


And yes, I know it is only because what a crazy season it has been that the "Luckeyes" (as Shane likes to call them) are in the National championship game. What can I say? I don't think that Ohio State is the best team this year, but I of course will cheer them on against LSU.

If Boise is going anywhere it will be to the Big 12 in 2025 when the Big 12 has to renegotiate its current TV contract. The Big 12 desperately wants to expand to 12 teams. This is also the same deal BYU is currently aiming for.

Just off the top of my head adding Boise and BYU and bring the Big 12 to 12 teams makes a lot of sense. The biggest problem is adding BYU comes with a bunch of headaches. The biggest problem I see with that scenario is BYU is like dating a chick that thinks she's a 10 but is really an 8 at best. Last time the Big 12 looked at adding BYU the Cougars managed to step on their own dick.

There is a HUGE (can’t emphasize this enough) difference between Ohio State/Florida and Utah. My argument would be that Whitt has done more with less, while Meyer has never had an empty cupboard, except maybe at Bowling Green.

Let’s compare Apples to Apples:

Meyer took McBride and Whitts players in 2004 to an undefeated season and beat No. 19 Pittsburgh (8-3). They ended No. 4 in the AP and No. 5 in the coaches.

Whitt took his own players and went undefeated in 2008, then beat heavily favored No. 4 Alabama (12-1, 8-0 SEC). They ended up No. 2 in the AP and No. 4 in the coaches. To make that year sting worse, Florida and Meyers team won the mythical championship with a 13-1 record.

Meyer is one hell of a coach and there is no question about that. That said, it’s an Apples to Oranges comparison based on the players they have both had on the field.

So the Pac Woke is the only major football conference not playing....

...And I don't see it happening with half the league made up of California and Oregon teams.
