View Full Version : Have you ever GOOGLED yourself

Has anyone ever googled yourself and come back with some relevant information. I found a cool one from 2003 on a blm web site from when we installed a gate out on the San Rafael.

Anyone else come up with anything good?

My name is too common. If I google my usernames (i.e. DiscGolfDiver) I get a list of my posts from geocaching and xbox but nothing too fun. One day I'll be worth googling though.

Yeah, and this is the guy it comes up with.
Perhaps many of you know him - he's a prominent advocate of Christ-centered home schooling in Colorado. Unfortunately, he's taken my (our) name as a .com domain. :frustrated:
My name is also shared by a hockey goalie (minor league) and a character on Family Guy (I didn't know that...). I actually make an appearance on the 8th page of Google results, involving the BC Mountaineering Club.
If you Google Richard R. Barron or Abby S. M. Barron, our web site is the first hit. If you Google Richard Barron our web site is second behind an architect in Los Angeles.
If you Google Abby Milligan (her previous name), one of the hits is drag racing results from a track in Springer, OK, which are Abby's results.

This is what I found out about me (Shane Hadley)
And I promise you that this is not me
Shane has worked in the ProSport Physical Therapy family since 2002, specializing in rehabilitating orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and high school, college and professional athletes. He graduated with his Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from California State University, Long Beach in 1998, and then graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Mount St. Mary

When I Google my first and last name in quotes, I get 250 hits, all relevant to me. Most of them are either news articles, forum posts (one even points to this site), or references to my blog.
Odd, my GOOGLEing returned bunch of my Psychology papers, Unix/Netware support posts and Whitewater rafting vids. Google is awesome.

I rarely use my last name on the net, so I was shocked when stuff came up.
Everything from Belly Dance Instructor to an ACA photo post (Rich must have put my full name), my blogs, my webstites, amazon reviews, to an old article where I was quoted. And the St. George Today magazine where Bo and I write a monthly hiking/canyoneer/climbing article for the magazine. They are not much into updating their site though. They do however send the magazine to over 75,000 people in the St. Geroge, Mesquite and Springdale area each month.

When I Google my name I get results from 43things.com, someone else's MySpace page, some old posts to UNIX and Mac newsgroups, and bunch of marathon/half marathon results. The funny thing about the results is that there's another guy with my name somewhere in the midwest that also runs marathons and half marathons, so it makes it look like I'm really active.
The picture on the other guy's MySpace page makes me look like an underwear model.

Now really my name is pretty common. Looking it up here I found 95 people with the same name in this country. And that's just the ones with phone numbers that are listed.

You guys are cruel! No big deal, really. I was a family member in Jack Weyland's "Charlie", a minor speaking role in "Mobsters and Mormons" (for those of you who have seen it, I'm the guy that gets hit in the head with the church podium and later I get decked by the mobster) and I have another role in a soon to be released movie called "Firecreek". I also get decked in that one playing a boxer (bare chested I may add- gave a boost to this 47 year old's ego!) in an illegal fight club. All my mtn. biking keeps me in shape enough that I can do these stunts! What can I say? I enjoy acting. I just finished a stint in Hale Center Theater Orem "A Christmas Carol". I'm just a well rounded guy (upright or horizontal)!

I doubt most people on this site would appreciate Charly, but I loved it! My wife and I still argue about it because I think it was one of the sweetest movies ever and she thought it was hokey. I think it is awesome that you were in Charly!

Bare chested or shirt on?! Not really, just the mug shot I take to auditions. I'm not computer savy enough to upload my 'famous' movie scenes to the web site. For "Mobsters" my getting decked scene was in the trailer on TV. That was kinda cool. I've thought of trying to make part of one scene my avatar but, alas, I don't know how.
