Did my first ourdoor activity yesterday....a mountain bike ride on Quantico MCB, about 25 minutes from my house.
I only took a few pics, I'll post them when they're up.
Synopsis: 28*, frozen trail. Lots of well groomed singletrack, althought some of it was leaf covered making it slippery. Lots of rollers, short descents followed by short max-effort climbs. Exposed roots, fallen logs to cross, and even a few big logs with built on/off ramps. Also a few areas built out for stunts with whoops, jumps, and banks.
The entire ride was thickly wooded, and some of it was even a practice-patrolling area for the Marines with sandbag bunkers and gaurd-houses along the trail. By the end of the ride, the sun was beginning to thaw the ground and a few spots were slippery.
Overall a good time, and the ability to go ride in Jan ain't bad at all. It snowed last week here, twice, but has since melted off (more or less).
