"effect", you conservative b1tch!!!!!!! :frustrated:
Just kidding.
But really, affect=verb; effect=noun.

Yeah, I know but I thought I had it right. I said the affect on the water is cool. Affect (verb) as in how it affected the water (noun).
But wow way to bite my head off there Price. :flamer: :lol8:
I guess I could have been clearer by saying:
The way it affected the water is cool.

Yes, the last one is correct, but it should definitely have been effect in the first one. Technically, you are referring to "The effect" - hence a noun. I am the grammar Nazi.
I think maybe price was channeling RevCoyote there, for a sec, showing how political biases and ad hominem attacks can be inserted into the most innocuous dialog. Actually, rather pointed satire, I thought...
Oh, and cool photo!

Fantastic pic.
That's a famous boat, with a long history, and the site of a tragic turret explosion that killed 47 sailors, in 1989.
Here's a couple more of the Iowa:

Since we're all learning something here, the shapes are not parabolic they are circular.

I guess that makes sense. If you are the grammar nazi than I will have to believe you. I guess I don't really get it. My grammar is usually pretty good, but there are some things with which I struggle.
P.S. While we are discussing my flaws in writing, I seem to misspell definitely a lot. (I spell it: "definetly" instead of "definitely").

I was on the USS Hornet in the bay area a few years ago, and was told it got about 8 inches per gallon when it was still in use.

That is better than I expected. I know a lot of cruise ships get about 5 to the gallon.

I'm with you. There are a few words that get me, affect/effect being one of them. I pretty much just avoid these words. Or is it those words. Damn, now I'm gonna get a lecture. :haha:

I heard the USS Prius gets over 60 inches per gallon. But they had to take out the guns so they would have more room for the iPod attachment.

Just because this isn't political or religious:
I beg to disagree. The shape caused by such a blast would be parabolic. It looks somewhat circular because it is a three dimensional or 3 axis parabola. As y aproaches infinity x and z aproach their limits.

Does the USS Subaru have some way of avoiding killing fish or damaging ecosystems? Is it sailed by kelp-huggers?

Yes, it's completely fueled by self satisfaction. :roflol:
OK, truth time. At this moment, I am NOT actually rolling on the floor and laughing out loud.
