Here is a copy of an email I got don't know if its real or not & couldn't find anything on snopes about it

The photographer of the following photos (unknown) was one lucky person. In these days of unrest and turmoil it is great to see that Mother Nature can still produce some wondrous beauty.

The odds of seeing an albino moose are astronomical and to see this in the upper peninsula of Michigan, near Wisconsin, is even greater than astronomical. To see two of them together is nearly impossible. We wanted to share these photos with as many people as possible because you will probably never have a chance to see this rare sight again. This is a really special treat, so enjoy the shot of a life time. These animals were photographed just north of the Wisconsin border on a highway near Marenisco, MI. Thanks to RK for the photos.....

Someone asked if there is anything mystical about this sighting. I do not know but I do know that I really enjoy looking at them. I am pretty sure that if you send them to five friends nothing magical will happen except you will know that you have shared a unique experi! ence that they will never see again... ENJOY

I don't know as much about moose, but I do know that there are white "black bears". I don't know how much you guys care but black bears come in multiple colors (most common are black and brown). The dirty white ones are known as glacier bears.

more commonly known as the kermode or spirit bear

and i am sure you also know that they are not albinos, but that the white color is a recessive trait. they are most common in coastal british columbia. although the populations of bear where they are most common are the most genetically isolated (eg. islands), they have been found within montana and alberta as well.

You are quite the expert. I only know a little about glacier bears. I saw a couple in Alaska.

actually not at all an expert, but i examined this a while ago, at least the kermode bears.

however, i realize now that i am wrong, the glacier bear is different from the kermode bear. sorry for the misinformation.

What is the rarest color phase of American black bears?
While white is the rarest color phase, a very uncommon and particularly beautiful color phase of the black bear is the blue-gray or glacier bears of southeastern Alaska, northwestern British Columbia and the southwest Yukon. The undercoat of the glacier bears is a rich blue-black, while the outer guard hairs are long and white (or light yellow) with silver tips. This color variation probably evolved during the last ice age when populations were isolated along the unfrozen sections of the coastline, due to the biological process of genetic drift (random fluctuations in the genetic composition of a small population). The blue-gray color is ideal camouflage against the backdrop of frozen ice - the bears are nearly impossible to spot unless they are moving. Unfortunately, this color phase is on the decline. Immigration of non-glacier black bears and emigration of glacier bears across the now unfrozen landscape, are causing the gene frequency to be eliminated in the face of more dominant color phases, as the two mingle and mate.

I have seen 2 different glacier bears. Neither were as blue as I was expecting, but it was still neat to see them.

Summit- That picture is awesome and it helps confirm that white moose exist.
