How did you find bogley.com?

We're curious. How did you come across this forum to eventually join?

We were discussing this a little at lunch today. I got a call over 2 years ago from Scott (accadacca). He told me to check out this web forum he created, and told me to go to uutah.com. I signed in, and told my friends and family about it.

I was just tired of sending these huge emails containing pictures from recent trips, so I thought this was a great way to show a ton of pictures, and just email a link to friends and family.

Someone spammed the old yahoo canyoneer group and I checked it out but wasn't interested in keeping up with another forum (I pretty much only followed the two canyoneering groups on Yahoo at the time). Later I came to check this place out and found pics from TR's I'd been missing out on and noticed a lot of the younger guys from the yahoo groups hung out here. Then Shane took over and now it's pretty much what the old yahoo group was (which isn't a bad thing) only with different areas to talk about different stuff. I like it better than the old conyoneer group on Yahoo since I thought it was stupid to have two yahoo canyoneering groups.

RockGremlin introduced me to the site by spamming the Yahoo Canyoneer eGroups. At the time I visited uUtah occasionally.

Price is the one who really got me posting at uUtah. It was nice to be able to post pics and video inside of trip reports. Best of all this site is organized so I can skip that which does not interest me.

I believe it was on a canyoneering trip with Rock and Price along with a few others that the idea was born about shutting down the Yahoo Canyoneer eGroup and moving our traveling circus over here. This was a much better fit with the Climb-Utah website because the forum in Utah specific and covers hiking, rock climbing, caving and backpacking, which are a major part of Climb-Utah. So far I think it has worked out well for everyone.

I got a new mountain bike... wanted to find trails to ride... surfed the internet and found MTBR and utahmountainbiking or whatever which led to a video on youtube. I had been riding up Icebox Canyon (ok so maybe I hike my bike a lot up Icebox) and saw Beech coming down Icebox in the vid and in the corner of the vid was the goofy little Bogley guy and the address. Took a peek and well here I am 1000+ posts in 6 months. It was a tough goal but I made it. I love it!! :2thumbs:

All my favorite things in one place.. Travel... Skiing... Biking... Photo's galore!!! I live vicariously through Bogley and occasionaly get to share my adventures. And not once has anyone told me I am obsessed with skiing or crazy for biking. I get that all the time from my less active friends. Plus I have met some really cool cats from Bogley. :cool2: :five:

When I joined I asked to be included in future 'holy shit what was a thinking?!' outings like that. Beech assured me there was always room on teh sled for one more idiot willing to risk life and limb for a good time.
My life as of late has not worked out the way I had planned :p
One day though, I shall meet some of you, and I shall ride that damn sled into history, or the hospital, one of the two. I just need more money and more time!
