Pretty cool.

I'm looking at making movies with Google Earth's Movie Maker, but this is only available with Pro.

There is a 7 day trial though, so I'm going to get all of my waypoints marked for trails, and then bust out a bunch of movies. The purpose will be for directions to trailheads and such.

I've abandoned GE for anything outside a major city, World Wind is so much better, it draws the landscape so much closer to true life, high res images anywhere in the US (yea they are black and white but so what) and you can overlay topo maps anywhere in the US. It will also read many of your .kmz files.

I agree that World Wind has much better resolution, but to be honest, I was getting dizzy from the navigation tools. I'd be going into a spinning frenzy pretty often.

I'm sure you can get the controls down, but GE is so user friendly. If you can take the maps from WW and paste them to GE, you'd have the perfect program.

Did you guys hear that Google struck a deal with Nasa to do Google Moon and Google Mars? I read about it last week.

They have had this for over a year now. Not sure if they will go into more depth?

What they have available currently is rather disappointing to Google Earth. Google mentioned a couple of years ago that by 2069 there will be a Google Moon, but recently (without announcing a specific date) announced that NASA and Google have struck a deal to bring space exploration to Earth.

We just got around to overlaying an aerial shot we did in the summer. We have our logo painted on our parking structure. Have a look...

You must have Google Earth installed http://earth.google.com
