The Frozen Hog is very fun! I've been involved since it started basically. The last few years I've helped with officiation, promo, etc. It's very relaxed, friendly and fun and almost everyone walks away with a prize. Come and enjoy!

This is a fun race! I did it a few years ago after a few days of warm temps, no snow, lots of mud, lots of water. Thought I was going to die. :D

I think I'll show up. I don't have the legs to ride right now, but I'll be happy to take plenty of footage.
And of course, anybody's welcome to borrow my helmetcam. That would be decent footage of the race.

HMM, Ill have to think about that one...how much extra weight is that to carry? I dont have a problem with carrying weight..Ido it all the time...never really though of it...it would be cool footage :haha:

Oh, not too much. Just a small camcorder and 8 AA batteries. The helmetcam itself is very small. I'd say 5 lbs all together. :ne_nau:

COOL! I wont even notice it! I will be wearing full body armor...taking no chances - and a camelback..I can put the hardwear in the backpack cant I? Or I can bring a buttpack instead of the camelback...lighter and sits low. This weekend I am rebuilding my crosscountrybike...cables,housings, brakes, etc. and I WILL be ready for this shindig.. Oh , and I registered under the Men 40 class...I have never raced expert and dont intend on it now. :haha:

Don't want to discourage the 'helmet cam', but plan on going down once or twice- almost everyone does. Nobody's ever been seriously hurt that I'm aware of. Probably because of the snow cushioned landing. The tumbles are typically due to patches of ice so the tip-overs are usually more like slides.
Have fun!

hmmm, well, that is a concern. Although we could just store it in i's case, which has plenty of padding. The actual camcorder is the only thing to worry about.
The helmetcam itself is actually waterproof, so no worries there.

Well, Ive given it lots of thought and Id rather not wear the helmet cam...besides, my wife will be taking pics too.
...as fas as going down a few times...the body armor - yeah, never leave home without it!

My husband might do this race. I'd like to do it as well, if I weren't recovering from some surgery. We have a winter racing series in MI called the Paul Bunyon series I used to race in, it was a blast... I like these kind of "weird" races because it's not so hardcore, people mostly are out there having fun and enjoying the challenge. Good luck to you! We may see you out there!

I'm rootin' for ya Greyhair! Kick ass and take names, OR at least finish the damn thing! haha. I don't know if you have Sombeech as your support team, as he has not really answered my repeated questions about being your manager pit crew.

Just be there brah! I WILL finish the race - I am very competetive so I'll probably end up killing myself :lol8: I have been ordered to take it easy this week and recuperate...then I go on dayshift Saturday and off next Thursday so I have evenings at the rec center to workout and one day to get the gear together...it will be fine!
...you know, when you GET OLD  you know where your 'wall' is you have to break through...we just hit the wall earlier than you young guys :haha:

I regret to say this, but I'm backing out of the Hog. We're riding in St George on the next weekend, and there are some things I have to take care of before I go.
Sorry, and have fun. The BikeFro 3000 is available to borrow. :afro:
