You'll probably find this one pretty useful:

You can easily find a cache by GC#, keyword, zip code, etc. You can also get to somebody's geocaching.com profile quickly.

I'm a fan of the newly discovered UnPlug feature, that lets you take "Flash" media, and download it.

I like:
"plain old favorites"
"better search"
"colorful tabs"
"extension updates"
"duplicate detector"
"restart with tabs"
"stealther"
"fireftp"
and a bunch more. I love firefox! I also use the google toolbar.

Here is another Fx extension I have found that can be very helpfull
Abduction (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3408)
It is a screengrab extension so you don't have to hit print screen then paste it to a paint program, then save it there.
Has anybody else came across any other good extensions yet?

I had adblock but it was nothing compared to ad block plus. That add on is great. Thanks so much.

I now have also added "Speed Dial" it allows my new tab to basically look like the Google Chrome homepage, only you pick what sites go where.

I like Flagfox - shows the flag of the country where the web site is hosted.
Flashblock - I REALLY like this one. Basically you have to enable each flash to run embedded in the webpage. It's great for security and stupid ads that you don't want to see.
Password Exporter - great for managing your passwords

I know nothing about browsers, I use IE and am happy with it mostly because it is what I am familiar with. I have tried using firefox but it just doesn't sit right with me.... then I read these posts about pluggins, and wonder if they would be useful to me.
Guys please educate me, why is one browser better then the other?
Up here at Weber the IT guys are always trying to get me to go to firefox, but I have been fairly resistant. They don't explain to me why I should they just tell me to. I don't like that. I need to know the benefit.

If you ad-block plus for Firefox the Internet becomes a cleaner place for you. That one extension makes it worth while. Everything else just allows you to customize your web browser experience to your liking. add-ons for Firefox are free while IE7 add-ons are usually expensive. You can customize Firefox to be as much like IE as you would like but in the end you just go with what works for you. Firefox works much better for me.

My hard drive is so dirty it makes no sense to install any of that stuff, heh. Will revisit this post when I format and reinstall :haha:

I really have found the f-secure online scan to be a great system cleaner.
http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml
(The irorny is that they require you to use IE :) )
Also here is the script for a batch file I use to clean out my temporary files. If you save this script as a .bat file instead of a .txt file it will clean out some of the old temp files bogging down your computer:

RD /S /Q TEMP
DEL /F /S /Q *.TMP
DEL *.LOG
MD TEMP
CD %SYSTEMROOT%
RD /S /Q TEMP
DEL *.LOG

CD %USERPROFILE%\LOCAL SETTINGS\

Thanks to all the Bogleys that turned me onto using Mozilla Firefox a while back. It's been the best switch ever. I even switched both office computers over and my co-workers seem to like it. :2thumbs:

I'm jealous. I'm not allowed to install it at work. I used to run it off a thumb drive but now thumb drives are banned too. Sucks.

Why would they ban the use of Firefox, it is allot safer browser than IE.

A lot of our customers have their computers locked down so you are unable to install things unless you are an admin, so when I have a chance I often install Firefox on the computers because as a user I prefer it so much.

At my office, we have 2 computers and I am possibly the most computer literate out of the 4 of us......this doesn't say much. So when I install new, fun things on the computers, my co-workers LOVE it and are AMAZED that I "know so much". I get a quite the chuckle out of it. :lol8: :lol8: WOMEN!

You can check out this review by 3 editors at CNET who compared Internet Explorer 7.0 to Firefox 2 (note: Internet Explorer 8.0 is in beta and Firefox 3 is released):
http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10442_7-6656808-1.html (http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10442_7-6656808-1.html)
As you can predict, Firefox wins hands down.
For me, however, the biggest advantage of Firefox is this - its manageability and customization via the myriad of add-ons that are available for it. Since Firefox is managed as an open source project, developers all over the world can and do write extensions and plug-ins for it, whereas Internet Explorer has been burdened by Microsoft's control over it and only has a handful of extensions.
Check out this list of add-ons for Firefox. You can click on any of the Categories on the left-hand side to see what is available for each one:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/)
And then you can use the suggestions in this thread to pick out some favorite add-ons for yourself to enhance your Internet browsing experience.
