No freakin way!!! Giant squids have interested me for years, because we all knew they existed, but nobody has ever seen one alive.
Then, a couple of years ago, Japanese scientists caught some snapshots of one in the deep sea, in only 30 second intervals.
This is amazing. It's almost to the equivalent of filming Sasquatch.

I, too, really love this kind of stuff. Squid are pretty amazing and to think these giants roam the depths is awesome to me.
We were in the Virgin Islands one year and my wife and I were snorkelling when a large school of small squid approached. They kept a distance but just followed us around, darting close and then backing away. Very neat!

I'd be glad to eat all that calamari for scientific purposes.

I was watching a National Geographic clip on MSN today and they showed an octopus grabbing a shark. That was amazing!
I know there has to be a joke there - but I don't think I'm the one to make it. Ice Axe, help me out.

well, the sea of japan is a pretty bad place :cool2:
rich in sealife (hence the extensive fishing), deep basins, almost completely enclosed and has no tides, volcanism of japan?
no idea :ne_nau:
Seriously! What is up with Japan :haha:
I wonder what's next, 9' seahorse :haha:

That would cause some changes to the rules of water polo.
