I approach it from a secular standpoint. Its not overly important to me, but I see it as a celebration of family and good fortune. My wife is Christian and celebrates the birth of Christ in a fairly standard fashion.
It is fun trying to surprise my spoiled wife with something she doesn't expect every year.
