We bought the car about 2 years ago, that pic has a Beefed up 180 HP VW motor, fun car over the winter last year we put a Subaru 2.5L engine in "way more reliable then VW!!" it with a T3 Turbo aprx 330-350HP at 10 PSI boost. the sand rail weighs about 900LBS Its so fun flying across and around the sand dunes!!! Its a wheeling machine!!!! It does about 60 MPH up the face of sand mountain on the back two wheels :2thumbs: Unfortunately the VW type 1 tranaxle only lasted three trips B4 breaking in half :frustrated: I now need to buy a Rhino case and have it gusseted, HD side plates then we'll be ready to go again!!!

sandcars are way fun and if you ever get a chance to run up the hill at sand mountain a few times do it you'll love it!!!
