The flooding in the Pacific North West is incredible. Here are some pictures just released by the National Park Service.
The file is in PDF format and is about 5mb.

That is incredible, We think we humans are in control of things, then Mother Nature flexes her muscles.

Our great works of human enterprise will fade away with time. The mountain will endure. Amen

Dont get me wrong- I was going to visit the park this coming summer, but isn't that whole area considered a rain forest?

well the westside is considered temperate rainforest.

Still - 18 inches of rain over a couple days is kind of an anomaly. There was a lot of flooding all around the Pacific Northwest.

A slide I ran into two days after the rains mentioned - lots of logging roads in my neck of the woods have washouts - many that probably won't go discovered until the snow clears next spring:
