Had a great Thanksgiving and were able to knock off 4 canyons in 4
days. Camped at the head of the West Fork of Blue John and didn't see
another canyoneer the entire time.

Here is a quick up date on the conditions as of Nov 22-25, 2006.

East Fork of Blue John: Water in most of the large potholes one chest
deep.

Larry Canyon: No water. Lots of old webbing. We cleaned up a couple of
the anchors.

Alcatraz: Some water to waste deep and lots of mud. R2 and R3 had
old fixed lines. Regret not pulling them out.

West Fork of White Roost Canyon: All of the anchors had been recently replaced.

Hey I think you must have bumped into a co-worker of mine that spent Thanksgiving hiking around White Roost. She's not a canyoneer (afraid of ropes/rappelling? :ne_nau: ) , but she said she dropped into White Roost and hiked up as far as the slot would allow. She bumped into "one group of canyoneers."

Great way to spend the holiday! :2thumbs:

If it was on Saturday then it was us.

We ran into a couple with two dogs and they pointed out the exit for us. We were enjoying the lower canyon so much that we walked past the exit ramp. They were the only people we saw while we were in the roost area.

Yup - that was her. They had two dogs with them.

Nice pics!

Tell her THANKS for pointing us in the right direction!

We had walked well past the exit and were blindly wondering towards the dirty devil. If it had not been for her we would have had a long slog with the headlamps!
