Nice site. So I am looking at this "Death Canyon" north of Powell and thought it was Sandthrax. Apparently not. It appears to be up the road from the Leps and Sandthrax. Anyone done this canyon and is it any good? Does it go by another name?

Death Canyon was completed when we first discovered the North Wash Complex. The canyon drains the north side of Turkey Knob and is noted as Death Canyon on the USGS maps.
Anyhoo.... here is the scoop on Death Canyon..... We did it so you don't have to.

Well, thanks. With a name like "Death Canyon" I thought it would be a bit better. Thanks for doing it so I don't have to.

Not that good, but there are some flint chip sites in the area.
and likely first descended by others in the 70s. perhaps earlier?
Probably way earlier since there is only one drop that you must rap.

I'm guessing the cattle ranchers were in the canyon in the late 1800's. There is often a big pool at the bottom of the final drop that the cows drink from. There has been some speculation that cows dying is how the canyon got its name locally.
When I mentioned that "We discovered the North Wash Complex", I meant when my little inbreed group discovered that the area was an unpublished canyoneering mecca.
