Hi!

Two friends and I completed the North fork or Iron wash, in the swell, on sunday. Incredible.
There was perfect, clear running water filling all the potholes throughout this great canyon. The ambiance was unbeatable. Wet-suits would have been nice, as we were all very cold by the end of the dark/technical section. Swimming, waist-deep wading, and very cold water in the dark (very dark) section were encountered. It took us 8-9 hours in total using the fault-line canyon as the entry point.
If you are considering a moderate canyon in the swell with a long approach check this out if there have been recent rains. Iron wash is a large drainage, allowing for flowing crystal clear water. Enchanting. Camera ate it on the zipline, so I only have a few pictures.

Happy steming!

I really like the NF of Iron Wash. Its a really fun canyon if the weather is not too hot.

At the big keeper did you go over the top or was the water level perfect for swimming?

we swam the keeper and had no trouble walking right out. We didn't see the log used for the bypass, weren't looking too hard though.

I am now a believer that canyoning after storms is the most fun.
Awesome natural waterpark.
