Only a few more weeks until the Jazz season starts..

Just wanted to know if anyone is excited or got season tickets. Shane Reed and I are splitting a pair of season tickets and I got a pair for myself.

Let's hope the players can stay healthy so we can make the playoffs!!

Yeah I am a bit interested to see how they fair. They picked up Fisher and a few good rookies. Where is rockgremlin?? He will come in and squash our hopes with some realities... :lol8:

Dang the Jazz are playing well. 3-0

Hopefully they can stay healthy. I went to the first game at the DC and they took care of Houston. Last night they spanked Golden State and the night before they won in Phoenix.

WTF?? :ne_nau:

I like what I'm seeing so far but they started 3-0 in the 04-05 season also.

Not the best looking win but a win none the less.
Interesting little fact about the Jazz, they have the most 2nd round draft picks of any team - 7
Boozer, Collins, Okur, Giricek, Miles, Milsap, and Brown

shanehadman

They played good enough to make a comeback, but just missed crucial fouls shots down the stretch and 3-pointers in the last minute.....Don't lose hope yet :ne_nau:

I didn't see the same offensive flow as the past 4 games, but I was only able to watch the first half before I had to go to work so I didn't watch the whole game but that's what I saw.

Wow that Bucks game was so close, they wouldn't have had a chance with out Redd he had over half of their team's points. Hopefully AK won't be out for long, that looked like it hurt. Tuesday should be a good match up with the Clippers but I am going to be at work

accadacca
11-12-2006, 09:15 AM
Redd was freaking ridiculous... :eek2: Williams is looking awesome for a young player. Is this his 2nd or 3rd year? Boozer looks good too. Their bench is playing well and scoring when needed...Brewer and Harpring last night. I don't want to jinks them but they are looking pretty deep at the moment. :five:

This month we have some tough games, Suns two times, Clippers, and the Spurs and Lakers in back to back games. I trying to free up next saturday to go watch them paly the Suns.I have a good feeling about the team this year, but we started 6-1 in the 04-05 season only to go 25-57 so the next 2 weeks should be a good test for the Jazz.

shanehadman
11-15-2006, 08:47 AM
7-1 now.....They are looking very strong even without AK-47...Brewer and Milsap are really stepping up and I'm really amazed at how much Sloan is playing them.....

Jazz are lookin' good.

But my big question is how come our cheerleaders have the littlest boob's in pro sports? I thought a ridiculous sized boob job was the first requirement for a pro cheerleader. If you want a good laugh check out the boobs size of your favorite college cheerleaders against those of any NFL cheerleader. Funny the size difference.

Jazz are lookin' good..... my big concern at the moment is what happens with the rookies at about 20 games in. I've seen teams like this before kinda hit the wall when the rookies reach 20 games which is basically a full college season and what the rook's are used to playing. Suddenly the rooks notice they aren't even 1/4 of the way through the pro schedule and the intensity falls way off.

One good thing.... when you are winning everything is just seems easier. :2thumbs:

I watched the game, and I was very impressed. This is definitely not your mama's Utah Jazz (Stock to Malone....slow it down...pick n' roll). They're quick, agressive, and they run. They all appear "hungry" to win. The old-time Utah Jazz would have rolled over and given up at 16 points down with 10 minutes left in the game.

I think they have the potential to go very far this season. If they can keep this pace up, they could go pretty far into the playoffs...maybe the finals.

Once again we were at the game and Paul Millsap was by far the player of the game. He was all over the floor diving for the ball and getting offensive rebounds. He is a work HORSE :2thumbs:

WTF... :ne_nau: When are they going to lose? My wife and I had been flipping around after it looked like the Jazz were doomed. I was watching bond on spike TV. The only lead that they had was in the first quarter and they were down 21 in the 3rd. Somehow they rallied back, little by little. Boozer 32 and 13, Williams 20, 13 assists and 7 boards.

I don't know what to say. They got the Lakers in LA on Friday. Well see if they can keep rollin'! I think I'm driving the wagon now...:hail2thechief:

I was sure after the first quarter that it was going to be an ugly loss but then they turned around. Maybe after the game today the NBA will slap another $25,000 fine on Phil Jackson, he didn't mind the calls where it looked like the refs were waiting to see if the Lakers shots would fall in before blowing the whistle.

I'll second that. Fine line between team player and ball hog. He clears the line by some wide margins.

shanehadman
12-01-2006, 11:02 AM
If any player goes 9/9 from the field and 10/10 from the foul line for 30 points I would want him to have the ball....Who wouldn't??? :lol8: :lol8: :lol8: Oh and those stats are in the 3rd quarter alone!!!!

He's more of a team player now than he has ever been :2thumbs:

rockgremlin
12-01-2006, 12:06 PM
It's one thing to sabotage your offense by hogging the ball, and putting up poor shots, but it quite another to do what he did last night. His own teammates were busting their asses to get him the ball -- and for good reason -- he couldn't miss!

Another thing about performances like that - it jacks up the other team's defense. Now instead of just guarding Kobe like normal, they are forced to double-team him, which leaves a man open. It wreaks havoc. The Jazz didn't know what to do. Every single shot Kobe put up was with a Jazzman's hand in his face.

Crazy!

Reedus
12-01-2006, 04:46 PM
So he was one last night... woopity freakin do. I would venture that the reason that the Lakers don't do well in post season is because of the Kobster. You can't have a glory hog on the team like that and do well. It would all weigh on Kobster's performance. If he is on like he was last night, they spank their opponent, but if his game isn't up to par, they lose.

basilone0331
12-05-2006, 04:00 PM
Last night they looked really good agaisnt the Bucks, something like 70% fg in the third.

Reedus
12-06-2006, 07:23 AM
I really thought at the first of the season that they would be the typical Jazz team off to a great start only to lay a golden egg after a few games. But after watching them play, i have changed my opinion. It isn't so much the talent they have but the way they bust there butts and hustle down the court that impresses me and wins game IMHO. I think they will go far in the playoffs this year.

Reedus

accadacca
12-06-2006, 09:18 AM

Now they are impressing me too. But yer statement above might be a little far fetched. Everyone knows that the first 20 games of the regular season are a wash and pointless. Are the other teams really trying to win or do they not care yet? Now when it comes down to the playoff stretch and certainly in the playoffs its a whole different ballgame.

shanehadman
12-06-2006, 09:24 AM
I for sure think we will make the playoffs but once you get into a 7 game series with the MAVS or SPURS or SUNS it's alot different than just a regular season game, but I see them going far if they can stay healthy!!! :haha: :haha: :haha:

basilone0331

They looked great against the Mavs and Boozer and William tore apart the Clippers after the half. The next 7 games are against teams with records of .500 or below, hopefully we won't embarass ourselves.

12-14-2006, 06:14 AM

I work swings so I don't get to see the games - but I watch the scores on Yahoo and so I get something to watch I guess. It's unreal to see this team do what they are doing. They pounded the Mavs, then went to LA and buried the Clippers

Not sure how they'll do in the playoffs - I guess we'll see in February/March to really tell how well this team is doing. (obviously)

But, in the mean time - the train keeps rolling!

The Jazz are just too predictable. I would have been suprised to see the worst team in the NBA go into Dallas's house and beat them, but not the Utah Jazz. Cant be too upset with your team after last nights performance. Memphis was just on too.

I agree..... It's not that the JAZZ had a bad game, MEMPHIS just played very well and played like they wanted to win :ne_nau: :ne_nau:

I don't think that this is a 'midseason meltdown' at all, but we need to start winning the games we are suppose to win

The DENVER game tomorrow and the SAN ANTONIO game next Wednesday will be the real tests for us

I disagree. A little more than a week ago the Jazz were on a 4 game losing skid. And then yesterday they lose to the WORST TEAM IN THE NBA. Memphis has only won 2 OTHER GAMES on the road -- the entire season!!!

"Not winning games we are supposed to win" constitutes a meltdown when you hear that phrase 5 times in two weeks. Yesterday's debaucle at ES arena was deplorable. If I would've paid for a ticket to that game, I would've been pissed!! I would've launched my popcorn right at J Sloan's head!

Who was playing defense yesterday? Besides nobody...Typical Jazz fan will try and justify that one with "well, they just played better," or "well, everyone scored a lot of points (Boozer)," but none of that matters unless the collective efforts of the team result in a W.

When was the last time Dallas or Phoenix lost to the worst team in the NBA -- at home?

At least they made up for Memphis by beating the Nuggets. Ok, they didn't completely make up for it, but this helps. I like Carmello's dribble off his foot at the end. What a douche.

JAZZ really sucked in up against the HORNETS on saturday.... We had no one to score once BOOZER went out with a knee injury

What a disappointing loss last night for the JAZZ. Vince Carter hit a 35 foot 3-pointer at the buzzer to win and the crowd went so silent in shock.

Vince dominated the 2nd half of the game and the JAZZ just couldn't hold on to the lead.

The disappointing thing with BOOZER out is that we have no one that can post up inside. MILLSAP did a little bit, but never really drove it hard to the basket. OKUR should post up and drive to the hoop, but instead he sets screens up top and wants to shoot the 3-ball instead.

We need BOOZER back :hail2thechief: :hail2thechief:

What is wrong with Sloan?? Over 1,000 career wins as an NBA coach....I just think the JAZZ' mentality differs when they play the NBA's elite teams from when they play the below .500 teams

Players will start to step up to fill in for BOOZER and I believe we will have a better record while BOOZER is out than we did in the month of January (8-8)

1000 wins doesn't say anything??????? Sure says alot to me and the fact that he is only 1 of 5 coaches to reach over 1000 wins....He is a great coach

I'm not sure where 'Reedus' was when they reached the finals 2 years in a row only to get beat by the best who has ever played the game(JORDAN) Sure that might have been 10 years ago or so, but the Jazz are contenders and are a very well coached team

I believe he is the only pro coach that has been with the same team more than 15+ seasons....... The JAZZ franchise must believe in him or else he wouldn't still be around

Sloan- at times can make me a little peeved but over-all easily one of the best ever. What he does with what he has as far as players goes in very good. The players that have played for him and other coaches will tell you the same. Utah as a media market is what hurts us getting the big named players and personally I don't want to see an Iverson or an Anthony here.
I go to maybe 10 or so games a year and it's a working man's team and I like it. It's a long ride back to Cache Valley when we lose but I'm a Jazz fan. Hell I grew up on Lake Eire and I am still an Indians and a Browns fan and if I can still be that , it's nothing to say you are a Jazz fan.

Good contribution by every player last night
OKUR - 20 points
FISHER - 19 points

I was getting a little worried Saturday nights game when we were down 10 with 4 minutes to go against the KNICKS at home, but OKUR once again made some huge shots and we ended up winning by 2 in overtime :five:

My biggest pet peve is when people start leaving the game when it gets to the best part...I mean Saturday people were leaving with 1 minute left when the score was tied. Then it went into overtime and people were leaving before the overtime even started.. What the hell is wrong with people??? Why even go to the game if your not going to stay for the best part or see the end??? Just my thoughts on that matter :haha: :haha:

The Lakers, Suns, and Spurs all lost 2 games over the weekend so the JAZZ are now 1/2 a game ahead of the spurs and only 5 1/2 behind the SUNS.... Keep it up JAZZ

D WILLIAMS played his heart out and they shut LEBRON down when they needed to. That may have been a foul at the end of the game, but GIRICEK has got to be smarter than trying to take a charge at halfcourt when the guy has to throw a prayer shot up anyways :ne_nau: :ne_nau:

This team is just tough! Boston really wasn't trying much, but the Jazz just wear teams down. They play so tough and are always hustling, punishing their opponents. I think their work ethic wins a bunch of games for them. Other teams don't really care and just hope to turn it on near the end of the year and sneak in the playoffs.

Tell me this...what other team can have 2-4 of their starters in and out with injuries and still get quality wins? The Jazz stars are getting some good rest too. This could pay off BIG TIME at the end of the year and during the playoffs. And its not just about working hard for the Jazz. Thats not the only reason they are getting wins...they have REAL TALENT now too.
